ABOUT ATLAS DESIGNER DOORS
THE PICTURE THAT INSPIRED THE NAME & LOGO
The Atlas lion, also known as a Barbary lion, (or Barbarian lion) was known as the "King of animals", due to it's size and strength, which patrolled the Atlas mountains of Nubia during the times of Caesar and were used in the great amphitheaters for gladiator battles. It was characterized by a mane that is much more voluminous than that of its African cousins, very dark or even black, and reaching to the middle of it's belly. These lions were more robust and much more massive than other species of lions, easily reaching 440 to 620 lbs. Their speed and agility were unmatched by any other animal of its day. Truly, a fierce and remarkable animal.
At ATLAS DESIGNER DOORS, we have a strong philosophy to resonate these same characteristics of the Atlas lion. Strength when we need to tackle a big job, courage to get outside our comfort zone, speed when we need to get things done fast, grit when moments get tough, and an unyielding mission to always perform like a lion. In other words, we aim to be the best at what we do, above the rest. It is not just a philosophy, it is a mindset, and mindset is everything.
Another founding philosophy that has been a guiding compass through all the years is knowing that there is a significant difference between a "salesman" and a "consultant". While a salesmen is out to get his quota, and do whatever is best for him, and benefit his own pocket, a consultant does what is best for the client, every time. This philosophy has been a powerful mindset to the founder of Atlas Designer Doors through the years in every business venture. We will always do what is best for the client, period!

Josh Prazen has always loved creating and building projects. He started welding when he was just 10, under the guidance of his father Richard Prazen, then owner of Pioneer Blacksmithing and Design. For many years, Josh worked as a lead fabricator of custom railing, gates, fireplace fronts, steel doors, and countless art projects. It would be what would pay his way through college to go into business finance and marketing.
Directly out of college, Josh was one of the first people offering steel entry doors in the state of Utah under Hubbard Iron doors over 20 years ago. He ran that company for a year until he partnered with Visionmakers Custom Stone and Steel doors, which he operated for over 13 years. Josh left that company in October of 2019 to discover his next venture. After a period of time, Josh launched Atlas Designer Doors the beginning of 2022. With over 25 years experience in construction and over 15 years doing steel entry door systems, Josh is uniquely qualified to accomplish any project.
Above all else, his greatest accomplishment will always be his family, and his marriage to an amazing women, his wife Taryn, who has stuck with him through the good times, and the harder times.
